WP 7 expected to overtake iPhone; MS says no to hack your phone

Reports last week explained that Microsoft is seriously in play and that the future will probably be a troika of Android, Windows Phone and Windows Phone with iOS, passing the iPhone by 2015. This week point to these reports, alert the user of Microsoft warning regarding the "update your homebrew" and also problems with an update HTC.
Windows phone to be # 2 by 2015
In part because of Microsoft's Alliance with Nokia, market research firms predict that Windows Phone will be a major player within a few years, reaching the number 3 spot in 2013, catching for the iPhone in 2014 and outpacing the iPhone in 2015.

A key to the success of Windows Phone is if the platform will attract developers, since the availability of applications that can make or break a smartphone. And the news was generally good, with 11,500 apps is now available for Windows Phone 7.
Furthermore, according to a story from CNET, 7,500 of those apps are paid, while another 1,110 generate revenue through ads. Microsoft said that Windows Phone users are downloading an average of 12 apps per month. It is impressive how far things have come in six months.

News about updates of Windows Phone
Last week we noticed a couple of hacks, including Updater ChevronWP7, enabling eager Windows Phone users update their device without having to wait for Microsoft to make it available.
Two days later, Microsoft said, not do It and urged users to wait for the official update. And the developer of the hack removed from its website and explained why.
Moreover, some owners of HTC, which had received the Microsoft Update legit then got a message saying that a update is available for the HTC phones. It was not clear what this update offered, but some of those who found that it updated messed up their phones decreasing the bit depth. Somehow these things just don't seem to ever go right.
