My latest review Windows Phone was the HTC HD7. It was an awesome laptop ... Huge Display, snappy processor, and a very reliable. I'm not having quite as well for a time with the htc Surround. The phone is the quarry, with a 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU, more memory than an iPad (and how much storage), but definitely seeing some wrinkles in the overall experience of WP this time around. The Surround-although it has some great features-is certainly not enough to reveal the powerhouse that is the HD7.I admit to being spoiled and somewhat distorted by iOS and RIM. Accustomed to the notion of the device is ready for use, not just on, or has activated. When a phone is slow (even slightly), it is painfully obvious. The Surround started a bit lazy (and also slows down or unresponsive at times), and while it certainly could be just the review unit (or network of AT&T), my first feelings are kind of non-plussed. This is really only an initial post on Surround (specifications and impressions), so I'm holding my breath for an upgrade (the node is not available for the Surround until May). I could see a niche for this phone, like Surround sports some nifty features media (slide out speaker and a tripod), and again, as the overall functionality, but ...The front of the unit is a typical modern design candybar SP and Surround is nice in my opinion. It feels sturdy, with an attractive two-tone finish and a clean design typical for HTC. The layout button at the bottom touch screen capacitive 3,8 "has a little extra space for the thumb, but I found typing in portrait or landscape type of annoying, with lots of miscues. The screen, which actually slips out (you can see a small Wedge extra on a Board), is bright and crisp and easily readable in almost all conditions. The point of the slide is to reveal the built-in speakers, which includes a hardware control to enable or disable advanced sound effects (very good portable audio experience). Scroll across the screen reveals a kickstand on the back of the unit that can be extended to prop the Surround in media-orientation observation. Bottom Surround provides a micro-USB connector for charging and syncing to the Zune desktop application, and I think that is a problem for not having permission based filesystem Browse capacity (without adding additional software), but that is not the fault of Surround sound. The phone offers no expansion slots, but then I think the days of the transfer of photos to a memory card (the computer) have gone way of the dodo. There are many ways to get your pix posted directly online, especially when you consider the Surround includes WiFi 802 .11b/g/n. Although the Surround is not a HD7, includes many of the same bells-n-whistles. Internal GPS Antenna, Bluetooth, G-Sensor, digital compass, proximity and ambient light. I still find it annoying that the screen in many applications (like maps) do not rotate accordingly. With the stand off, would have been nice if the Navigator app AT&T (pre-loaded) would be displayed with the correct orientation.The back is a semi-rubbery black finish and I would show a shot under the battery, but the coverage was so difficult to remove, I finally gave up. Maybe it will pry out for post wrap-up. I imagine that in any case, there is a SIM card slot and a 1230 mAh battery as well (I wondered why this unit came with a battery is already there ... now I know). The battery in this unit requires a charge after regular use every few days. Course that could vary considerably (see complete specifications below).Surround the sport that seems to be a very similar (if not themselves) camera like the HD7 (a 5Mpxl with flash). My first impressions are that this camera produces images of the same caliber as HD7-a bit washed out. The top and sides of Surround are adorned with the power required (in the upper right corner from front view), volume (top right) and camera buttons (bottom right). A long narrow on the camera button will take you directly into the app where talking and sharing pix is a breeze. It did take a few minutes for my pix to make it to the web page and the hub update, etc. I posted on the full specs on the Surround below. I was a little hard on it, in the light of my previous experiences with the HD7, but I want to clarify that I am still impressed with these new Windows phones, including Surround sound. The GUI is intuitive and easy to navigate, and the hardware is clearly competitive to other modern smartphones in terms of functionality. I hope that the response sometimes break is just an isolated glitch. Perhaps the update will be released before my follow-up post and will deal with these problems. Today our smartphones make almost everything but brush your teeth. To me the features, functionality and efficiency of having an iPhone in your pocket are what make it heavier phone bills worth paying each month. However, it is foolish to pass on the opportunity to save money.

With the rise of technology, the need to Wi-Fi to connect to the internet without sacrifice is always less. However, it is really very nice whenever we are able to link with a wifi internet connection, as this means less data used on our service plan.

The main advantages of establishing a connection to internet Wi-Fi are twice:

Increase Download SpeedSaves money

The service plan for my smartphone requires that at least I establish the minimum data plan to keep alive on my phone. This is set at 200 megabytes. I have the possibility of increasing of 2 GB or 4 GB.  But, as you probably know that this increase did not come without a price. Being aware of the local wifi hotspot in your area can possibly save a good price.

Know your phone:

On the smartphone you can adjust the settings so it automatically asks you to participate in any local area networks. This is a good idea to switch, especially if you are running close going over the data and/or travel abroad. Simply use the Wi-Fi connection whenever it is available.

Tips for travelers:      

Smartphone international usage of the Internet can be very expensive, if not done correctly. If you are traveling abroad you might easily be spending about $ 20 per megabyte. My advice is to call your Internet service provider and capture any suggestions or recommendations for international travel. International packages are expensive, but you can save $ if you plan to use your phone abroad. Looking to spend around $ 200 for 200 megabytes.

Internet activities such as running out of juice?

Streaming music and video occupy a large amount of bandwidth. Avoid these activities if you're on a budget.Some games that use the internet are great data dupes. A lot of Windows Phone 7 users now have a copy paste of & update, but the distribution is still plodding and some people are still having problems. Windows phone 7 Demo Update

PocketNow has put together a couple videos showing an updated Windows Phone 7 in action. This first video shows the function to copy/paste and how you can use to paste multiple times. And this second video shows a comparison of speed between phones LG Optimus 7, one with and one without upgrade. The difference seems to be quite significant.

Update coming to T-Mobile, Dell; Tool update corrects errors

Last week Microsoft began rolling out the Windows phone 7 Update for the Dell Pro. In addition, the device will also soon apparently always a second update that may resolve some of the hardware problems that have emerged.

HTC Trophy entries coming April 15, Verizon

Suggestions of arrival on April 15, Verizon HTC trophy have been appearing online, with the Phandroid website posting spring roadmap showing the Verizon PocketNow device and which points to other suggestions.

Recent applications

Reported Microsoft developers of 36,000 now have paid for the Windows phone Developer Tools — a good sign that there is strong interest in building applications for this platform.

At a Conference for developers last week, Microsoft began to disclose the details of a major update to Windows Phone 7 codename for Mango, which is expected this year. This week we'll look at some of these details, as well as the news that Skype is coming to Windows phone.

Microsoft's market share declined last fall

The verdict is still out whether Microsoft will be a player in the mobile arena. Motley Fool posted an article saying that the rollout of Windows phone 7 last year was largely a nonevent.

The number of people who use Microsoft based phones (Windows Mobile and Windows Phone) is reduced by last fall as the new Windows phone 7 is now available. Digits: 5.9 million in October, 5.5 million in November and $ 5.3 million in December.

Mango update coming this year — 7 great features

Microsoft still has deep pockets, and nothing to lose. And last week's event for developers showed that Microsoft is intent on providing a great user experience on mobile devices.

While the event was focused on the introduction of new technologies that developers can include in their applications, it also gave consumers a taste of some of the exciting things to come when the software was released this year (or maybe even at the beginning of the next annoper some).

Engadet has published a video explaining the new features who are coming. PocketNow has a post titled seven major new features of Mango for Windows Phone 7 pointing to the videos and conveniently summarizes the main points. (Also, be sure to check out the discussion extended to PocketNow.)

Features include animated Live tiles, custom ring tones, performance improvements, improvements that include background browser streaming and ramped-up performance, market research results improved considerably and more.

Ben. geek and PocketNow have posts that talk about additional functionality, including multitasking software features that will allow augmented reality, XNA/Silverlight integration and more.

Augmented reality is pretty cool: it displays a live image on the screen through the camera, and that the image overlap information relevant to the context.

Internet Explorer 9 coming in Mango

One of the most anticipated features of Mango will Internet Explorer 9, which will be more robust, with new features and much more. A demo IE9 at last week's event shows that access to the Internet via Windows phone with Mango will be much faster than iPhone and Android devices.

Also last week, Microsoft exec Joe Belfiore demoed some of the new features of Windows Phone that can be expected. Some of the features he shows in the video include multitasking, live agents, a cool demo of Layar app that offers augmented reality, and more.

Speaking of multitasking WMPoweruser , explains how Microsoft is to avoid the performance problems that plagued Windows Mobile forcing the ways in which developers can implement it in Mango. This will increase the stability, speed and battery life.

Missing features in Mango

Despite the excitement over Mango, PocketNow lists some features that are missing, however, recognizing that Microsoft may still announce them.

Skype coming to Windows phone

In addition to the excitement surrounding Mango last week, Engadget posted the welcome news that Microsoft and Skype are working on a version of the software for Windows phone. It's a good sign that Skype has reversed their position after earlier saying it had no plans to bring to this platform.

Reports last week explained that Microsoft is seriously in play and that the future will probably be a troika of Android, Windows Phone and Windows Phone with iOS, passing the iPhone by 2015. This week point to these reports, alert the user of Microsoft warning regarding the "update your homebrew" and also problems with an update HTC.

Windows phone to be # 2 by 2015

In part because of Microsoft's Alliance with Nokia, market research firms predict that Windows Phone will be a major player within a few years, reaching the number 3 spot in 2013, catching for the iPhone in 2014 and outpacing the iPhone in 2015.

This is according to a report by Gartner, Inc. Android is expected to be the clear winner, capturing half of the smartphone market by the end of 2012 and remain at that level through 2015. A article about ZDNet compares Gartner analysis with a similar report from Gartner a month before rival IDC that came to nearly identical conclusions.

And according to a brief report from Reuters, Nokia-Microsoft talks are going as planned and should conclude by the end of April. The report says that they plan to release a bunch of Windows phones in 2012.

11,500 applications available

A key to the success of Windows Phone is if the platform will attract developers, since the availability of applications that can make or break a smartphone. And the news was generally good, with 11,500 apps is now available for Windows Phone 7.

Furthermore, according to a story from CNET, 7,500 of those apps are paid, while another 1,110 generate revenue through ads. Microsoft said that Windows Phone users are downloading an average of 12 apps per month. It is impressive how far things have come in six months.

News about updates of Windows Phone

Last week we noticed a couple of hacks, including Updater ChevronWP7, enabling eager Windows Phone users update their device without having to wait for Microsoft to make it available.

Two days later, Microsoft said, not do It and urged users to wait for the official update. And the developer of the hack removed from its website and explained why.

Moreover, some owners of HTC, which had received the Microsoft Update legit then got a message saying that a update is available for the HTC phones. It was not clear what this update offered, but some of those who found that it updated messed up their phones decreasing the bit depth. Somehow these things just don't seem to ever go right.

Microsoft finally began releasing the latest update for AT&T Windows phones last week that included features that are new and undocumented. It also reduced the upload speed on Samsung's focus, with various blog posting a correction. And this week I'll still recommend the latest app roundup of PocketNow.

Microsoft and Nokia finalize agreement

Last week Microsoft and Nokia ad released that they had finally signed on the dotted line — 10 weeks after first announced their intention to form a partnership. Also reported last week, was the news that Nokia's market share fell below 30% for the first time in over a decade, so it is clear that this partnership is crucial to the future success of Nokia.

Update begins to roll out at&T WP7

Also last week Microsoft began rolling out the latest update of Windows Phone phones AT&T. and for those who were impatient and jumped the gun through the incision of ChevronWP7, , which Microsoft said last week that those phones updated Chevron never would be able to install an update. Uh oh. I wish I hadn't emphasized this hack in a previous column.

Blink different interval for the standby mode and when notification exists (new message/missed call).

Slow play is the archenemy of golfers and always greener I certainly don't want to add to the problem. When the course is necessary accurate at a glance. Realistically you don't intend to use the gps for every shot and then we tried to keep to the essential. Your not going to find the bridges course tracking bets, scores (its faster with a pencil) and scrolling of google maps. Accurate only when you need it quickly. If you need a yardage differs from the flag you can switch to map view. To help you quickly get yardage needed be assured that the entire hole is visible on the map. We do not have zoom or scroll function like downloading extra pieces of the map requires time. As mobile phone screens are longer vertically than it makes sense that the hole is rotated to use all available space. To get a yardage at a glance which ensure that the Green is always at the top of the screen.
